On 16th of July, 2011 the first batch of EThames Graduate School, India Campus welcomed the freshers by throwing a party at Cuba Libre, GVK one Mall. They invited the faculty, staff and the Principal to join them as well! There was one condition to enter the club…each one of the attendees had to have a rose in hand. They were later asked to give it to their favorite person. The seniors addressed the gathering and invited people to join them on the dance floor. After a little boogieing, the freshers were asked to do a ramp walk and answer questions.
To the faculty and staff’s surprise they were also asked to do the same which they did in a sportive spirit. Next, the delicious buffet spread was consumed at an amazing rate. After a little more Salsa they decided to call it a day. In this process they made several heartwarming memories for years to come!

EThames Student :Santosh Nair excelled in allaspects of dance. At LALITHASAI....
Santosh G. Nair's full-fledged dance recital for the Indian Fine Arts showed a lot of promise. Every posture, tap of the foot and bhava spoke volumes of the training given by her gurus V.S. Ramamoorthy and Manjula Ramaswamy. After paying obeisance with pushpanjali she performed a padam 'Vande Shambu,' a ragamalika in praise of Lord Shiva.
The highlight of the recital was the varnam which was pulsating and where the dancer kept time to the rhythm of the percussion. It was a navaragamalika pada varnam and a composition of K.N. Dandayudhapani Pillai with the underlying mood 'viraha.' Beginning with the line 'Swamiyai Vara Solladi,' it talked about how the nayaki pleads with her friend to unite her with the Lord by bringing him to her as quickly as possible. The heroine talks about the various ways in which her Lord could be received. In the line, 'Thamatham yeno vasantha' set in raga Vasantha, bhibatsa and karuna rasas came to the fore when her friend tests her patience by delaying her departure, by having a good meal, chewing on betel leaves and so on. She even wants to be dressed and bejewelled like the nayaki for her meeting with the nayika.
